Welcome visitors to the Portland Streetcar website. Portland Streetcar began operations July 20, 2001 as the first modern streetcar system in the country. We were excited to celebrate our 10th Anniversary this summer and want to thank all who have supported us! In 2009 we broke ground on the Loop alignment which will connect downtown Portland to the Rose Quarter, Lloyd District, Convention Center, Central Eastside and OMSI. 2012 promises to be exciting as we gear up to celebrate the opening of the Loop on September 22.
