Construction Update

Important Construction Information:

  • Overhead electrical wires have been installed along the entire Loop alignment. THESE WIRES SHOULD BE CONSIDERED “HOT” WIRES. Please inform vendors, delivery vehicles and maintenance personnel that all activities must take place at least 10 feet from live power lines. Work closer than 10 feet must comply with OSHA safety requirements. These referenced activities could include, but are not limited to, painting, maintenance work, garbage removal, recycling, tree trimming, etc.

 

BROADWAY BRIDGE

NOW – February 29, 2012 – Broadway Bridge Testing

  • Expect periodic lane closures from 9:00AM to 4:00PM with one lane in each direction maintained.
  • Bicycle and pedestrian access will be maintained, please use caution in work zones.

PEARL DISTRICT

Track Turnout Restoration work from 15th to 17th on NW Lovejoy and NW Northrup
January 3, 2012 – March 1, 2012

  • Expect road closures on NW Lovejoy and NW Northrup from 15th to 17th.
  • Thru traffic will be maintained on NW 15th, NW 16th and NW 17th
  • Bicycle and Pedestrian access will be maintained.
  • This work is Weather Dependent.

Electrical and track testing along new tracks on 10th, 11th, Lovejoy and Northrup

February 8 – 9, 2012

  • Testing will occur February 8 & 9, 2012
  • Expect intermittent lane closures
  • Bicycle and Pedestrian access will be maintained.

BROADWAY, WEIDLER, MLK, GRAND, 7TH, LOVEJOY, NORTHRUP, 10TH AND 11TH

Ongoing punch list work will continue through March 31, 2012 followed by platform amenities work which will continue through the summer of 2012 leading up to the Opening of the Loop on September 21, 2012.
This work will include intermittent lane closures.

TESTING

Test Trains and Vehicles will run along the entire alignment
February - September 2012

  • Crews will be operating test trains and vehicles along the entire alignment beginning in mid January.
    • Please pay attention to all traffic signals and signs as they will help clarify the new traffic regulations in the area.
    • When parking your motorized vehicle along the Streetcar alignment, please pay attention to the solid white line as that marks the edge of the Streetcars' clearance.
    • Your vehicle must be within the solid white line to avoid being ticketed or towed.

SOUTH WATERFRONT

Streetcar Service Interruption from PSU to SW Lowell & Bond

Friday, February 3 – Sunday, February 5, 2012

  • Streetcar service will be shut down with a bus replacement shuttle between SW 5th & Montgomery and SW Lowell & Bond from the beginning of service on Friday, February 3 through the end of service on Sunday, February 5, 2012.
  • Streetcar service from NW 23rd to PSU will not be on the regular schedule. Please refer to the NextBus signs in the shelters for arrival times.
  • Streetcar will resume regular service on Monday, February 6, 2012.

Streetcar Station Closure at SW Lowell and Bond

NOW – December 31, 2012

  • The streetcar stop located at SW Lowell and Bond is closed through December 2012.
  • Please use the temporary stop location at SW Bond at Lowell.
  • This station closure is necessary to construct the Tamarack Apartments.
