STREETCAR FARES
FARE POLICY:
- Fares for Portland Streetcar are the same as TriMet.
- Fares on Streetcar are free in Fareless Square.
- Fareless Square extends from NW Irving south, I-405 east to
Portland State University.
- Fareboxes on the Streetcar accept COIN and $1 and $5 dollar bills,
including $1 coins.
- Purchase tickets on Streetcars.
- Purchase tickets outside fareless square.
- Streetcar does NOT stop at every stop automatically. You must signal
the operator by pushing the vertical or horizontal yellow strip on the
high floor section of the car or push the buttons on the door. If you
have been successful at signaling for a stop, the reader board inside
the car will say stop.
- Streetcar will stop if passengers are waiting at the designated stop
platforms.
- Because Portland Streetcar operates in mixed traffic like a bus, travel
times could not be maintained if every designated platform stop was
recognized.
- Portland Streetcar has low floors for each
boarding of wheelchairs and is air-conditioned.
